The mission of the Falmouth Schools Nutrition Program is to provide healthy, nutritious food options for students in a child-centered, professional manner. We use scratch cooking methods incorporating local foods to the greatest extent possible.

We know that many families are facing uncertainty right now with the government shutdown impacting SNAP benefits this November, and we want to make sure you know where to find support if you need food assistance. This document contains important information for families, including finding local food assistance, general assistance, and more.

Free Breakfast & Lunch

Free Breakfast & Lunch

All registered students of Falmouth Public Schools are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch everyday, permanently. Middle and high school students need to have an account for purchasing A la Carte items aside from their eligible free meal.

Breakfast Meal Prices: FREE to All Enrolled Pre-K-12 Students; $2.50 for Adults
Lunch Meal Prices: FREE to All Enrolled Pre-K-12 Students; $5.75 for Adults
Milk: 8 oz cartons of Fat-free or Low-fat White, Low-fat Chocolate, Lactaid - $.50; Soy Milk - 8 oz Chocolate or Vanilla - $1.00

Maine Harvest of the Month Program

The Falmouth School Nutrition Program is excited and proud to participate in the Maine Harvest of the Month Program sponsored by Maine Child Nutrition Services and Maine Farm to School Network. Check our monthly menus for featured Maine grown, produced, or caught products.

We purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, beef, poultry, fish from local farmers, fishers, and processors such as Circle B Farms, Little Ridge Farm, Sweetser's Orchard, Maine Family Farms, Oakhurst Dairy, Backyard Farms, Merrill Seafood, The Milkhouse, Common Wealth Poultry, Spear Farm, Pineland Farm, Springworks Farm, and many others.

Farm to School

Our Mission: to root the farm-to-school movement into our cafeterias, classrooms, and learning gardens.

Our Vision: to graduate young citizens empowered to use their sustainability and food justice education to improve the health and wellness of themselves, their communities, and the environment.

Our Four Prong Approach: school gardens, local procurement, agricultural education, community involvement.

From student health and academic achievement, to job creation and family engagement, the benefits of farm to school activities are far reaching.

Food Services Policies

Special Provision 2

Falmouth Schools has one or more schools that participate in Special Provision II or Community Eligible Provision during the 2025-2026 school year. This alternative is referred to as Provision II or CEP. All students enrolled in schools listed below may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge. Household free/reduced meal applications are not to be distributed or received but similar forms may be distributed by the school to collect household income data for other programs that require this information, such as Federal Title programs.

All students will be served breakfast and lunch at no charge at Falmouth Elementary, Falmouth Middle and Falmouth High Schools.

Maine Health Let's Go program: A community engagement initiative working with communities to create environments that support healthy choices.

Farm to School: Enriches the connection communities have with fresh, healthy food and local food producers by changing food purchasing and education practices at schools and early care and education sites.

Maine Dairy & Nutrition Council: Works to bring the story of dairy to Mainers - the nutritional benefits, how to use it
in the kitchen, the farmers and their practices, and the land they conserve.

Maine Harvest of the Month Program: A nationwide marketing campaign that promotes the use of seasonally available, local products in schools.

Please be aware that deposits made through MySchoolBucks may take up to 24 hours for the money to be available in your student's account.

Falmouth School Staff can also set up accounts with MySchoolBucks to add money to their school meal accounts. When signing up on the website you need to set up your account as if you were a student. There is no option for choosing employee.
